As a frequent world traveler for business and pleasure, I make it a point to avoid impersonal hotels with their assembly line buffets, painted-on receptionists’ smiles and constant pressuring for unearned tips through accommodations in local bed & breakfast locally owned facilities. I am rarely disappointed although having need in such contrasting environments as Europe and Asia. Through a local referral I had the privilege of visiting the Clovelly House B & B. The referral turned out to be fortuitous in that the accommodations were found to be elegant, immaculately clean, the staff intelligent and welcoming, the perks generous and the food delicious. This property certainly exceeds a five-star rating which I recommend without qualification. A totally unexpected delight in Hobart and certainly world-class.

We made a point of staying in friendly B&Bs on our recent first trip to Tasmania and finding Clovelly House was a highlight! The King Family were kind and hospitable and the accommodation was cosy and comfortable. Afternoon Teas and Breakfasts were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for a more personal style of accommodation.

Just returned from our stay. Loved every minute! Teenagers sorted the photographs out in seconds of course! Will never know where we went wrong. Thank you so much for a truly memorable stay, the food, fire, information, lend of book to tour with and really useful travel tips. A round of applause to Mum and Sophie who made everything so seamless.Thanks again. By the way!!!! I found my earring in a butchers in Snug where Phillip got a huon pine clock that we returned to pick up! The butcher found it on the street outside on Wednesday and put it on his counter! This is a five star B&B. Location is excellent for getting around Hobart. The best part is the hosts Fay and Graham, two of the nicest people one could care to meet.
We have stayed in B&B’s in Australia and overseas and Clovelly house is up there with the best of them.
Had a wonderful stay and would recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clovelly House. The accommodation was great and the hospitality provided by Fay and Graham was fantastic. We will be returning and highly recommend this as the place to stay in Hobart.

We have just returned to the UK following our holiday in Tasmania. We toured the whole of Tasmania and this was by far the best B&B that we stayed in. It excelled in quality of rooms, cleanliness, facilities available (such as broadband) and value for money. The King family are wonderful hosts.
We can thoroughly recommend staying at Clovelly and will definitely return when next in Tasmania.
